About me
Curiosity. Craftsmanship. Care.
I’m Giampiero Tilli, a registered architect educated in Florence and based in Melbourne. My work brings together contemporary design, heritage conservation and the practical challenges of construction.
My early work at San Marco Museum and the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence helped shape my appreciation of art, materials and craftsmanship. Those experiences still influence the way I look at buildings and the stories they hold.
How I work
I believe good architecture begins by listening: to the people who use a place, to the client’s needs and to what is already there. I value integrity, careful judgment and clear communication, and enjoy working through complex problems with clients, consultants and builders.
Working directly with a builder sharpened my understanding of delivery. Accurate drawings matter, and so do timely decisions, practical coordination and respect for the people doing the work on site.
My aim is to create thoughtful, buildable solutions that respect the place, the budget and the environment. I care about lasting quality, conserving what matters and sharing knowledge with younger professionals.
Beyond architecture
I played bass in bands, and music remains part of my life. Drawing, painting, photography, making things, cooking and travelling keep my curiosity alive. My earlier experiences with graffiti and airbrush painting shaped my interest in colour and composition; street art, instruments and industrial design still catch my eye.
